Siamo lieti di presentarvi alcuni artisti speciali che, da ogni parte del mondo, hanno aderito al nostro bellissimo progetto #congliocchideibambini.
Il nostro viaggio inizia con Aishwarya Nayak, una straordinaria illustratrice indiana che ci ha inviato una tenerissima illustrazione piena di colori.

Sono Aishwarya Nayak, sono laureata in finanza e lavoro come illustratrice a tempo pieno da 3 anni a questa parte.
Fin da piccola ho sempre amato molto la danza e l’arte, sono appassionata di film e di cucina: le due attività che amo di più.
Rappresenti il punto di vista dei bambini indiani in questo momento storico difficile: dove vivi e per cosa è famosa la tua città?
I miei genitori provengono dal Kerala e dal Karnataka, due regioni a sud dell’India.
Ho studiato prevalentemente a Delhi e Mumbai, due città affascinanti. La mia terra è famosa per lo street food di Delhi, Il Bollywood di Mumbai, le spezie del Kerala e le spiagge del Karnataka che io amo tantissimo!
Il nostro mondo sta cambiando rapidamente e, con lui, le nostre abitudini. Com’è la situazione nel tuo paese?
L’India sta affrontando un momento davvero difficile, come tutti i paesi del mondo. Stiamo raggiungendo il secondo mese di lockdown totale e nonostante ciò i casi sono aumentati: da 1000 a 30000.
L’economia sta soffrendo e molti lavoratori si sono trasferiti dalle città metropolitane ai loro paesi d’origine.
La società ed i gruppi di aiuto si sono moltiplicati in tutta la nazione ed i partiti politici hanno adottato misure straordinarie per impedire la diffusione del virus, ciò nonostante ancora molto resta da fare per arginare questa situazione.
Ci hai inviato una bellissima illustrazione: due bambini che disegnano ciò che amano di più su di un foglio. Come hai scelto il soggetto?
La mia migliore amica ha una famiglia molto grande e carica molte foto dei suoi cuginetti che giocano e disegnano tutto il giorno e posta spesso le foto dei loro lavoretti su instagram…quindi ho pensato di rappresentare dei piccoli artisti!
Che frase useresti per descrivere la tua illustrazione?
La quarantena sta facendo emergere il meglio dei futuri artisti. Considero l’arte terapeutica e credo che i più piccoli, proprio come gli adulti, possano lasciar libero il loro flusso creativo e potersi sentire meglio durante questa pandemia.

I miei saluti ai più piccoli, pensandoli felici di avere i genitori a casa con loro ma tristi per la mancanza dei gelati e dei giochi in spiaggia. We are going to start with Aishwarya Nayak, a wonderful illustrator from India that send us a colorful and tender illustration: let’s know her better!
Hi! Aishwarya, thank you to have joined our project: Introduce yourself to our readers!
I am Aishwarya Nayak. I am a Finance graduate and I am working as a full-time illustrator for the past 3 years until now. I trained myself in the field of dance and fine arts in my childhood. Movie buff, music maniac, food fanatic are some of the other adjectives I love most.
You represent India children’s point of view in those difficult times. Where are you living and what characterizes your city the most?
My mother and father hail from Kerala and Karnataka, two Southern states in India while I completed most of my education in Delhi and Mumbai. Just like India, I represent many different things such as Delhi’s street food, Mumbai’s Bollywood, Kerala’s spices, and Karnataka’s beaches. Haha!
Our world is changing quickly and, with him, our behavior: how is the situation in your country?
My country, India, stands at a tricky spot right now. We are completing 2 months of complete shut down soon, but the cases have gradually increased from 1k to over 30k now, the economy is hurting, and a significant workforce of laborers has moved from metro cities to their hometowns. Civil society and special groups have mushroomed around the nation and the political parties have taken amazing steps to stop the issue from spreading. Still, a lot of distance is yet to be covered.
You sent us a lovely illustration: two children drawing what they love most on a paper at home. How did you choose the subject?
My friend has a very big family, she uploads pictures of her cousins playing and drawing around the clock, all day every day on her Instagram stories. My little cousins are also busy bringing out their creativity during this lockdown. They have been sending me pictures of their masterpieces on WhatsApp, so I thought of depicting these little artists!

Lockdown is bringing out the best of future artists. I consider art very therapeutic, so I think children, as well as adults, can try to let their creative juices flow a little and feel better during this pandemic.
