Autumn is the season of exhibitions! A large number of suggestions among art, nature and icons. How can you visit your favourite exhibition with your children, in an enjoyable way? We have selected the best family-friendly exhibition to see in Italy from north to south.

Milan. At Royal Palace you can immerse yourself in the history of painting visiting the exhibition “From Raphael to Schiele. Masterpieces from the Museum of Fine Arts in Budapest”, until the 7th February 2016. A rich collection with masterpieces from the middle ages to 20th century. Guided tours for families with children up to 6 years old.

Starting from the 28th October the Museum of Culture of Milan (Mudec) will host the exhibition Gauguin, tales from Paradise with approximately 70 works exhibited, coming from 12 international museum and private collection. During Sunday it is planned for children aged 6-11, the visit and a workshop, to do a journey round the world through the eyes of Gauguin. Then children will reconstruct the “worlds of Gauguin” in the Mudec Lab by following his travels and plotting their courses. At the same time, the guided tour of the exhibition for adults is available.

Moreover, at Mudec until March 13th an exhibition dedicated to the global icon Barbie! The exhibition “Barbie, the icon” will tell the story of the life of the doll and the cultural transformation that have marked our life.

Genoa. At Palazzo Ducale, the exhibition “From impressionism to Picasso. The Masterpieces from The Detroit Institute Of Arts.” 52 works that describe the journey from the United States to Europe. Every Saturday are planning workshop for children aged 5-11, while for the babies up to 6 years old there are many activities to stimulate them at image education.

Turin. At GAM, Galleria d’ Arte Moderna, an exhibition dedicated to Monet. The ticket is free for kids up to 6 years old and until 18 the possibility to take part to the workshop and activities organised by the Gallery. Moreover, it is possible to buy the family ticket at only 24 euro (2 adults and a kid aged under 14).

Possagno – Treviso. From painting to sculpture. At Museum Gipsoteca Antonio Canova until February 28 2016 the exhibition Antonio Canova: Art Violated in The Great War. An opportunity to explain to our kids how conflicts can damage all the beautiful things. Families can also have lunch in the restaurant set inside the Museum.

Bologna. At Palazzo Albergati the unmissable exhibition “Brueghel. Masterpieces of Flemish Art”. The exhibition will recount in picture the story of a whole dynasty with an exceptional artistic talent. You can find an itinerary fits for kids aged 6-12 with a specific guide: thanks to the music set according to the theme and the presence of talking characters, kids can discover Flanders, how the community of Nort-Europe during the XVII century lived and some other curiosities.

Rome. Until January 31st 2016 at Scuderie del Quirinale, an exhibition dedicated to Balthus and his masterpieces. The Museum gives to the younger the possibility to spend time with an Art Workshop inclusive of the visit to the exhibition, activities, interactive workshop and fascinating and stimulating theme events.
